Should you floss a roid?

The internet is full of miracle cures for everything from erectile dysfunction to weight loss. Even hemorrhoids have their place among the do-it-yourself home remedies.
One method involves wrapping dental floss around the base of the hemorrhoid and tying it as tight as you can manage. In addition to the navigational challenges is the associated danger. The only thing this method does is make the hemorrhoid get bigger and more painful. It will not drop off as reported and the dental floss can get stuck.
Another online solution is to use wart medicine to freeze away a hemorrhoid. Not only is this not effective, it can also exacerbate the problem.
The reality is that any cringe-worthy, quick-fix cure for hemorrhoids you might read about online should not be attempted for any reason. They are dangerous and are not likely to work anyway.
Even if you are a do-it-yourselfer and love the idea of taking care of annoying problems yourself, these outside-the-box methods won’t save you time and money.
