With Labor Day behind us, schools back in session (mostly), and the Cleveland Browns back on the field (sort of), it’s crunch time for essential home maintenance projects. These include power washing and sealing your driveway, setting up a gutter cleaning appointment for the fall, and cleaning your windows to maximize holiday sparkle. If you have mold, mildew, moss or grime on your siding, a house wash is in order, too.

Rolling Thunder Window Cleaning and Power Washing, who’s been doing professional home maintenance since 1993, can handle all of these projects.

Protect Your Concrete
Here in Northeast Ohio, winter’s freeze-thaw cycle attacks your porous concrete like a jackhammer, turning tiny holes into cracks and crevices, and causing pitting and flaking. Left untreated, expanding ice can reduce your driveway to rubble.

Rick and his team use professional-grade power washing equipment that is both effective and safe, but that, he says, is just the beginning. “One of the most important aspects of proper driveway maintenance is using the right sealer after it’s been cleaned,” Rick explains. “It’s critical. We use a professional-grade, water-based silicone water repellent made of a special hybrid of silane and siloxane. It features a mixture of different-size particles—some larger, some smaller—to fill different size voids in your concrete. It even helps prevent damaging road salt from penetrating your concrete.”

According to Rick, right now is your last chance before winter. “You cannot properly seal concrete once the temperature drops too low or if the sealant becomes covered with leaves before it has a chance to fully dry,” he explains.

Rolling Thunder also power washes siding and roofs. “There’s still time for a good house washing,” he says.

Gutter Cleaning
Leaves are already turning and beginning to drift down ahead of the big leaf drop coming in October and November—but don’t delay. “Sometimes people wait to set an appointment until their gutters are filled with leaves and water is overflowing,” Rick says. “It becomes a critical issue at that point. We want to be able to solve your problem in a timely manner. That’s why it’s so important to reserve a spot on our schedule now—in September.”

Overflowing gutters can cause expensive problems to your foundation and your basement. That’s why Rick and his team get in the nooks and crannies—even the downspouts.

Sparkling Windows
Nothing brightens the dark days of winter like sparking clean windows. They not only let more light in, they better reflect candlelight, holiday lights, and the warm glow of fireplaces, giving your home the bright charm of a glittering castle.

“When you clean windows on a house that haven’t been cleaned in a long time, it can be an emotional experience,” Rick says. “It changes everything. The entire home feels fresh, clean, open, and airy.”

Rick started cleaning windows at a Lakewood high-rise back in 1993. “I really do see it as my calling,” he says. “I get to meet great people. Plus, it keeps me in shape. I burn a lot of calories on the job.”

Holiday Lights

After the power washing and gutter cleaning season ends, Rolling Thunder turns to the installation of gorgeous holiday lights. “It’s a completely hands-off service for homeowners,” Rick says. “We supply the lights, install them and take them down. All you have to do is enjoy them.”

Rick’s availability for holiday light installations is extremely limited, so it’s best to contact him right away.
