With a history of success in the contracting business, Gary and Beth Cervelli and their showroom team at Northfield Power Equipment bring an equipment user’s perspective to customer service. Understanding the nuances of how power equipment is used is just one way the team relates to its customers, Gary explains.

“Cub Cadet is designed by some of the best engineers in the world, which is why the equipment can be backed by a rare three-year, unlimited hour warranty,” Gary says. “The cut and reliability of Cub Cadet tractors and zero-turn mowers is very well established, and they are very affordable as well.”

Established in 1961, Cub Cadet engineers, designs and builds outdoor power equipment using the highest quality components sourced locally and globally.

“We believe Cub Cadet is the best line of residential and commercial lawn and yard equipment out there,” Gary says. “When we had the opportunity to serve this territory four years ago, we jumped at it.”

Northfield Power Equipment’s large 20,000-square-foot facility, which features several lines of plows and yard equipment, opened five years ago. At the time, Gary was a plowing contractor whose suggestions to tweak a plow design earned him the trust of his equipment vendor.

“I had one suggestion to improve the plow, and the engineer was impressed and asked whether I had any others,” Gary recalls. “I sent back three pages—both sides.”

They struck up a relationship, and when the manufacturer looked for distributors, Gary was a natural selection. Northfield Power Equipment was established. Gary added Cub Cadet equipment to his offerings a year later.

“I was impressed with their reputation for being tough, reliable and long-lasting,” he says. “The brand has amazing owner loyalty. In fact, there are people who collect old Cub Cadets as a hobby.”

Cub Cadet, Gary says, offers the only zero-turn machines with optional steering wheels instead of the traditional lap bars. He says the new Ultima Series of zero-turns, introduced last spring, “is an absolute smash hit with their continuous, fully-welded 2x2 inch tubular frame that delivers strength and durability. Nobody else has it.”

The Ultima Series’ trademarked AeroForce cutting system offers “best-in-class cut quality.” This means fewer clumps and stragglers, finer clippings and increased evenness during mowing, Cub Cadet says. The Ultima Series offers two trim levels with varying deck size options.

Northfield Power Equipment also has a complete line of lawn tractors, along with other yard equipment, like rototillers and power washers.

“About half of our customers still prefer tractors over zero-turns,” he says.

The company also provides parts and service for all brands of equipment, and has an inventory of used equipment for sale.
