With the immune-boosting benefit of fitness, now more than ever before, achieving your optimal level of strength and endurance is integral to your overall well-being.

But who wants to spin their wheels waiting in line for barely-wiped-off machines at crowded mega gyms?

My Personal Trainer studio in Broadview Heights offers an elite level of one-on-one training in a boutique setting at a fraction of the price of other studios.

The protocol here is tailor made for safe social distancing.

Clients make an appointment for twice-weekly 20-minute sessions and practically have the studio to themselves, as they are often the only ones, or just one of two or three clients, working out.

MPT owner Eric Schaefer says they’ve been busy with new clients who have put on the “quarantine 15” and realize they needed a professional to get them back to pre-pandemic weight or better.

Meet Kathy, Lisa, Elaine and Claudia
There isn’t a typical client that frequents MPT. On any given day you’ll find women and men of all ages with unique goals and challenges.

Kathy (left) heard about MPT and thought it would be a good fit, signing up in May 2019. She says, “I’m almost down 30 pounds, my blood pressure is normal, and I finally have muscles I can see (and I love it).”

For Kathy LeBlanc, diabetes was the writing on her wall.

“My blood pressure was elevated and I was pre-diabetic,” she says. “My parents both were diabetic and I had seen what it did to them and did not want that happening to me.”

She had gained weight over the years. Every time she tried to exercise and diet on her own, it backfired. She heard about MPT and thought it would be a good fit, signing up in May 2019.

“I’m almost down 30 pounds, my blood pressure is normal, and I finally have muscles I can see (and I love it),” she says.

Lisa started training at MPT in July 2019 and has already increased her strength by 113%.

Lisa Swet had made all the right choices, staying active and eating healthy. But after she turned 50, it seemed like the clock caught up with her.

“I began to notice changes in my muscle tone and the appearance of fat in areas that I had never experienced before,” she says. “After doing research, I discovered that there were many health benefits, both physically and mentally, to strength and weight training, especially for women in my age group.”

Lisa started training in July 2019 and has already increased her strength by 113%.

Over the past nine months, Elaine’s strength level has grown by 80% and she’s gained about five pounds of muscle.

Elaine Coffey has had several injuries and surgeries that left her with physical limitations. She also suffers from osteoporosis, which makes strength training integral to her long-term health. Her goal was to gain muscle.

“MPT provides the expertise, supervision and unending encouragement I need. Having an actual appointment to work out makes it a regular commitment on my calendar,” she says. “If left on my own in a ‘regular gym,’ there’s no doubt my form would not be correct and I would push myself too hard, be sore and certainly injure myself.”

She says the philosophy and technique is different than any other she’s experienced. “When I’m finished, my muscles know they’ve been worked, but I’ve experienced no soreness the next day,” she notes.

Over the past nine months, her strength level has grown by 80% and she’s gained about five pounds of muscle.

“My results have been increased strength, better balance, which has increased my confidence, and I’m looking and feeling better than ever,” says Elaine.

Claudia’s journey started at MPT with a goal of getting strong enough to climb Machu Picchu. She continues to train, gaining strength and losing a whopping 54 lbs. to date.

Claudia Milano is a retired air traffic controller who enjoys adventure travelling.

But when her niece asked her to join a trip to Machu Picchu last September, to climb up a mountain and sleep in a glass sky pod, she was hesitant because of her fitness level.

“I read about MPT in Mimi Magazine and thought I’d give them a shot,” she says. “I walked in and said to the trainer Michelle, okay, you’ve got one month to make me strong enough to climb up that mountain—and she accepted the challenge.”

Claudia made it up the mountain.

“Michelle helped me strengthen the muscles in my arms and legs so I could easily pull myself up,” she says.

Though her journey started with that milestone, she continued training, gaining strength and losing a whopping 54 pounds.

Although Covid has curtailed her travel plans for the moment, she’s busy planning future treks to Iceland and Alaska.

“The big advantage of MPT is quality and value,” she says. “For an affordable monthly fee, these professionals keep my goals on track. Whenever I hit a plateau along the way, they encouraged me to push through it.”
