It’s not about losing weight

Now that summer is here, everyone wants to lose weight. But what they should really be interested in is losing fat and gaining lean muscle mass.

Just as doctors tell their patients to “know their numbers” (blood pressure and cholesterol), to take control of their health, we as trainers advise our clients to know their numbers beyond the ones they see on the scale.

Now that summer is here, everyone wants to lose weight. But what they should really be interested in is losing fat and gaining lean muscle mass.

I invested in the InBody Composition Analysis scanner because it provides actionable data, measuring things like muscle mass vs. body fat and total body water. It also provides a key number—the BMR or basal metabolic rate—which tells us how many calories you need to burn to lose weight. This is elemental to goal-setting and gauging progress.

Through our training and nutrition programs, we customize the precise metrics—the optimal number of calories in vs. calories expended—to get clients in the best shape of their lives. Since this is such a busy month for starting fitness programs, my fellow trainers and I decided to offer an InBody scan free to anyone who is interested in diving deeper into their health and wellness (no strings attached). We look forward to meeting you.
