Hot tub to reduce neck pain

When Pam Kovalchik of Akron came to The Place three years ago in search of a hot tub, she was interested in one that was both fun and therapeutic. Last week I spoke with her about her experience. 

“My husband and I both have arthritis in our neck and I also have it in my back,” Pam said. “We were looking for a hot tub that would be fun for our family, but also help with reducing pain and improving flexibility, particularly in the neck.”

“My husband uses the hot tub religiously—every single morning. We installed a canopy so we can enjoy it even in the rain or snow. “And I’m in it most mornings and evenings. I recently had neck and back surgery and the hot tub does wonders for helping me with the long healing process.”

How about sleeping? I asked Pam.

“Due to some post-operative issues, I have trouble getting in a comfortable position to fall asleep. That’s why I get in the hot tub most nights. It helps me relax and fall asleep.”

And how does Pam’s family like it?

“They love it. Our grandkids even snorkel in it,” Pam laughed. “The other morning my husband and I were having a cup of coffee and relaxing while our four-year-old granddaughter was swimming around us in her scuba mask and snorkel. I have a container ready to go with bathing suits and beach towels, so they just grab what they need and go.

“I love working with the staff at The Place. They helped us choose exactly the hot tub that was right for our needs and they are very responsive. We had an issue with our lights in February and they came right over and helped us. We get all of our products there, too; they make it easy. Now I could never imagine my life without a hot tub.”
