Hot tub relief for cerebral palsy

Daniel Spivak was born with cerebral palsy. Now 48 years old, the Madison, Ohio, resident makes the most out of each day with help from his hot tub.
“I use my hot tub every evening,” says Daniel, who has significant difficulty speaking. “It gives me pain relief, flexibility and it helps loosen the tightness in my muscles.”
In addition, Daniel says his hot tub helps him relax so he can get a good night’s sleep.
Daniel Spivak bought his first hot tub from The Place back in 2001 after researching both our industry and the benefits of hot tubs for those with cerebral palsy and other movement disorders. Since then, he has upgraded twice. We even customized a special step for him and added an accessory to his cover for easier access.
“I can get in and out of the tub by myself,” he says. “That’s important to me. Plus, the tub is outside so I can enjoy looking at the stars. On a clear night, I can see a lot of stars here in Madison.”
Daniel makes the hour-and-ten-minute drive to The Place because of our service.
“You are good people,” Daniel says. “You always help me.”
However, it’s mutual admiration. We’re amazed at how Daniel takes care of himself and his home since his parents passed away. We are honored to play a part in his autonomy.
