Handbag Haven
The shop has also earned quite a reputation as a haven for handbags. Walls are lined with designer handbags from all the big names in every oh-so-chic style and color, including messengers, hobos, cross-bodies, clutches, totes, adorable wallets and keychains.
“Women really let their personality shine with their handbag,” says Angie Quinones, who is the manager and first friendly face to greet shoppers walking through the door.
“Our selection allows them to find the perfect-fit bag, whether it’s a sleek beaded evening clutch or chunky hoop-handled design. Logomania is always in style, and we’ve got the logos featured on this summer’s fashion runways, Tory Burch, Fendi, Louis, Chanel, Gucci, YSL, Coach and more.”
In addition to a kaleidoscope of vibrant colors on the scene this summer, she reports they are selling lots of floral patterned purses, and also animal prints, plaid, paisley and patterned styles.
“Straw handbags with leather accents are also very much in demand,” says Angie.
On the Spot Cash Payouts
In addition to the fashion-forward styles, the biggest thing that separates Clothes Mentor from other resale shops is they pay you cash on the spot. Just bring in your designer bags or clothes and they pay you cash.
“Ladies who love designer bags are some of our biggest clients, as they like to turn in their existing ones for several ‘new’ ones,” Angie says.
“It takes about 10-15 minutes for our staff to evaluate the cash value of your clothing, which you receive during that visit. Most ladies shop while they wait and already have new outfits or purses picked out. Others earmark the extra cash for charities, camps for their kids, or just a little—or a lot—of fun money.”
Summer Trend Alert
Angie has her finger on the pulse-point of this summer’s smokin’ hot fashions.
“The cold ‘peekaboo’ shoulder is still a popular look for tops and dresses,” she says.
“Jumpsuits are also selling like crazy, whether they are dressy, or casual and flirty. Many of them feature elegant wide-leg palazzo pants, which can be styled in so many ways, from relaxed to glamorous.”
Mirroring that long and swingy silhouette are earrings. Angie says the style is to let them playfully dangle, even as far down as shoulder length.
