The Maids leaves your home smelling so fresh because the air has been rendered free of contaminants by the company’s proprietary HEPA vacuums, which scrub the air while thoroughly cleaning your carpeted and upholstered surfaces.

Let’s say you’re on your way home from work, thinking about your busy day—the places the kids need to go that evening, the appointments you have to make—and before you know it…you’re home. You walk in and it smells like home; the carpet has been vacuumed.

You’ve been too preoccupied to recall that today is cleaning day.

Walking into the kitchen, the sink appears clean as do the countertops…almost. Looks like one got missed and there are streak marks on the other. In the dining room, there are signs that someone has been there; more vac marks, and it looks like the table was polished correctly this time. Good, your complaint made a difference. Except now there are cobwebs in the chandelier and the window sills are dusty. What’s more...

...wait. You must not be using The Maids of Northeast Ohio.

The Maids Difference
Let’s try this again.

You’re on your way home from work, thinking about your busy day—the places the kids need to go that evening, the appointments you have to make—and before you know it…you’re home. Despite all the distractions, you remember that it’s one of your most favorite days.

It’s cleaning day.

You walk in and it smells…clean. No artificial cover-ups. No family lived-in fragrance with a background nose of “Ol’ Fido.” Just an immaculately clean environment because the air has been rendered free of contaminants by The Maids’ proprietary HEPA vacuums, which scrub the air while thoroughly cleaning your carpeted and upholstered surfaces.

You walk into the kitchen and react: “Wow, all of the stale food odors are gone.” The sink and countertops are gleaming as usual. Touch surfaces everywhere are shiny-clean and all food prep areas have been made sanitary. In the dining room, the carpet has been carefully vacuumed while the table top and the chandelier are rivals for the shiniest.

You catch yourself saying, “Oh, wow, I just love the days when The Maids come to clean.”

Here are 23 office and field people with a combined 214 years of experience with The Maids. They are: Fabiola Cisneros, Marina Avina, Ma Godinez, Anica Wanton, Syndi “Cali” Miller, Lisa Saddler, Doris Nunes-Soria, Lilliana Murillo, Alfida Zorrilla, Susie Florez- Munoz, Rosario Tito, Brittany Rice, Ketty Velez, Kristine Mitchell, Mike Manhoff, Crystal Straus, Tami Tompkins, Rachelle Siwek, Ashley Waszkowski, Roza Godinez, Celina Rivadeneira, Maria Quinto and Gabriela Gamarra.

I asked Mike Manhoff, owner of The Maids of Northeast Ohio, for his thoughts on this story.

“There is nothing more satisfying for our team to hear than the compliments that often come immediately after we have cleaned someone’s home,” he said. “But you may be laying it on a little heavy. We like to manage expectations by exceeding each individual customer’s expectations. We do our darndest to give a better clean and a better overall experience than they’ve had with any other maid service.”

Mike elaborated:

“We routinely promote that we have the lowest turnover in the business. What sometimes gets lost in that message is that our people, like nearly all of our clients, stay with us because they like the way we do business. In the years we have been in business, our employees have accumulated an incredible number of years of experience with us. A group of 20 of our most experienced team members has a total of 210 years of experience with The Maids. That’s an average of 10.5 Years of experience each. Our team as a whole has nearly 300 years of experience just working for us. If we include all years cleaning in the industry as a whole, the total is well over 350 years. Our office staff, which provides the excellent customer service we strive for, has a total of 60 years of experience with The Maids.”
“That’s a lot of statistics to digest, but it’s the reason why so many families rely on us to clean their homes. Our people have well-learned experience. They know what they are doing when they come into your home because our office team reviews exactly what you want cleaned beyond the areas we advertise. After a thorough new customer interview, we assign a cleaning team to your account. These people know the industry and are well versed in the way we do business. We review your needs and your expectations with them and then we set about our goal of meeting those expectation every time. And where we can…exceeding them. We call that the ‘Wow Factor.’ Maybe you should chat with a few of them.”

And, indeed, I did, and found a few “Wows” myself.

Mike Manhoff (front) and his A-team at The Maids of Northeast Ohio from L-R are: Brittany Rice, Michelle Torchinsky, Lori Moster, Crystal Straus and Tami Tompkins.

Brittany Rice
1 ½ years of experience as a Maid, 2 ½ years in the office, and is now an office manager.

Why Brittany chose The Maids:

“I just love our people and our customers… especially the elderly. They look forward to seeing us and we look forward to seeing them. We are all about customer service, not just cleaning. We’re frequently told by new customers how important our flexibility is to them after dealing with other services that are more rigid.”

Ashley Wazkowski
5 years of experience with The Maids.

Ashley’s take on The Maids:

“I so enjoy seeing our customers every day. Their children and their pets, too. I feel like we make a difference in their lives. One woman had us do a one-time clean of her home. It was in complete disarray and had gotten to the point where she found it too overwhelming to clean. When we finished, she asked for a group hug.”

Ashley proudly reminded me of how careful they are with their customer’s property.

“We are very detailed in how we clean and we treat our customers’ possessions like they are our own.”

Anica (Nicki) Wanton
7+ years with The Maids.

Nicki loves The Maids:

“Here I can grow. We’re very much a family and it’s a welcoming, respectful environment. The customers are a big deal to us, too. We have one customer who was so attached to her dog. Our team always looked forward to visiting her and her special friend. When her doggie passed away, she called our office to let us know—just like we were a part of her family.”
