Here’s how Pristine Clean can eliminate algae, moss, dirt and grime from your home’s siding, roof and concrete

Ken Wilson Pristine Truck
Due to the warm, wet weather, algae and mildew are thriving in Northeast Ohio. In anticipation of high demand, Pristine Clean owner Ken Wilson has added four more brand new trucks to the fleet of his growing business.

Coronavirus Update:
Pristine Clean has received an influx of requests from homeowners, schools, and commercial property owners to disinfect exterior surfaces, including playground equipment, patio furniture, picnic tables, decks, patios, and sidewalks, along with exterior public venues, bleachers, stadiums, and more. “We are deeply humbled by the current health situation,” says owner Ken Wilson. “We stand ready to help our community in any way we can.”

Last year was one of the wettest years on record for Northeast Ohio. Combine that with the mild winter we just finished and you have the perfect breeding ground for moss, algae, mildew and grime. It’s everywhere.

“We’ve never seen it this bad,” says Ken Wilson, founder of Northeast Ohio’s Pristine Clean. “Last year was warm and wet—and so was 2018—so algae is now thriving in a two-year growth phase. It’s unprecedented.”

Ken’s phones usually start ringing in late March when homeowners finally venture outside to see the grime on their homes, but this year those calls started in February. “The calls are coming early because you can see the grime,” he says. “Even in the snow, you can see the algae, mildew and dirt. It’s only March and we’re already busy.”

Leading-Edge Equipment
It’s going to be a banner year for power washing companies and Pristine Clean saw it coming.

“This year we invested in four more brand new trucks to handle the increasing volume,” says Ken, whose 12-year-old company also saw a seismic year of growth in 2019.

“These trucks are custom-outfitted with exactly what we need to do our best work, including soft-pressure wash systems specifically designed for siding and roofs, as well as commercial-grade walk-behind washers for cleaning concrete. When we clean a home, the before and after results are amazing. Your home will sparkle.”

But having your home professionally power washed is about more than aesthetics; it’s also about protecting your investment in your roof, siding and concrete.

Protect Your Siding
“Many homeowners are surprised to learn that vinyl siding is not completely maintenance-free,” Ken explains.

“Although you don’t have to paint it, you do have to clean it. Vinyl siding features a UV coating that prevents it from fading and cracking. Grime—that is, dirt, algae and bacteria—breaks down this coating causing your siding to fade and look chalky. It’s designed to be maintained, not with high-pressure blasting, but with soft pressure. We perform a soft-pressure wash using a mild mildewcide, which helps kill the algae and bacteria.”

The Pristine Clean house wash includes a soft pressure wash using an eco-friendly cleanser, which helps remove the grime, including algae and bacteria that can destroy your siding’s UV coating. Pristine also applies surface protection that makes your home shine.

Pristine also applies surface protection. “It’s this special surfactant that makes your house look so shiny,” Ken says. “Imagine never having your car washed or waxed. It would eventually destroy the finish.”

Black Streaks On Your Roof?
Those black streaks on your roof aren’t dirt, stains from tree debris, or even unsightly mildew. They are gloeocapsa magma, an ancient algae that breaks down your roof by feeding off of the limestone granules embedded in the shingles.

“Gloeocapsa magma can dramatically reduce the life of your roof,” Ken cautions.

“If you see black streaks on your roof, give us a call. We offer a 100% guarantee to remove all of the algae. We use a soft wash here, too, to avoid damage to your roof. And when that algae comes off, people say, ‘Wow, it looks like a new roof.’”

Protect Your Driveway
Northeast Ohio’s harsh winters chip away at our concrete sidewalks and driveways. That’s because concrete is porous, so when water penetrates your driveway then freezes, it creates cracking and flaking.

“The freeze-thaw cycle is especially damaging these days,” Ken says. “It doesn’t get cold and stay cold like it used to; it’s constantly freezing then warming up all winter, magnifying the traditional freeze-thaw cycle.”

Pristine’s Concrete Clean and Seal—which protects concrete, brick, and paver surfaces—includes a pressure wash of your concrete with a walk-behind surface cleaner and the application of a biodegradable cleanser to gently lift and remove surface marks and contaminants. Then comes an application of a deep-penetrating, siloxane-based concrete sealant, which is absorbed into the concrete to protect the driveway and preserve its longevity.

Flat-Rate Pricing
Pristine Clean employs a flat-rate pricing policy so no one in its organization is motivated to do what so many home improvement companies do: quote you an inflated price then hope you don’t negotiate down.

‘That’s just not us,” Ken assures. “Forging trust with our customer is our top priority so we don’t rely on tricks or gimmicks. We’re low pressure. We offer our best price to every customer up front, period. Customers tell me all the time that they chose us because our people were the nicest. We love to hear that.”
