Wildly successful fundraisers and special events are par for the course at the iconic Bunker Hill Golf Course, General Manager Chad “Chadly” Gibson proudly emphasizes. For more than 30 years, Chad has specialized in organizing extraordinary functions with minimal stress on the hosts.

“I’ve handled more than 2,500 events, including fundraisers that have raised more than $3 million for our local community,” Chad says. “Events and fundraisers always have been my passion.”

Bunker Hill’s recently remodeled event center has given Chad even more tools to work his magic, he says.

“We offer a gorgeous facility on a spectacularly manicured golf course with a lot of options that offer flexibility for your wedding, rehearsal, concert, business meeting, birthday, first communion, celebration of life, clambake, or any other type of personal or business function you are planning,” Chad says.

The Bunker Hill Event Center, which is an ideal venue for formal or casual affairs, holds 80 to 100 guests with an attached sun deck that can accommodate 40 more—overlooking the course.

Inside, Bunker Hill features a top-level Simulation Room that seats 40 to 80 people and features six of the most advanced golf simulators available. Guests not only can virtually play dozens of the world’s top courses on the simulators, but they also can practice mischief—like aiming their drive at the ball retriever guy or knocking windows out of digital buildings.

An outdoor pavilion area, with a 60-foot bar, can accommodate 200 people.

“The pavilion is ideal for parties in the fresh evening air,” Chad suggests. “It’s nice for casual events where you can set up corn hole and play Putt-Putt alongside a cozy bonfire. During the day, our gazebo makes a sensational backdrop for wedding pictures.”

All Bunker Hill events include a customized website to handle registration for paid or no-charge guests for accounting and thank you correspondences. Bunker Hill also provides assistance with an event Facebook page, flyers and other promotional options.

“The Bunker Hill event experience is hassle-free,” Chad promises. “We handle the cooking, serving, cleaning and all the logistics.”

A Rich Tradition
Even before Bunker Hill became one of Medina County’s most popular event venues it was among the region’s most prominent public golf courses, Chad emphasizes. The course, which is celebrating its 95th anniversary this year, has thrived since 1939 under the ownership of the Ingraham family. Two years ago, Steve Ross joined the family as a partner in the course.

Bunker Hill Golf Course is one of the premier public courses in Northeast Ohio, having been voted “Best of the Best” public course in Medina County for past four years.

“Steve had a dream of owning his own golf course and Bunker Hill was the obvious match,” Chad says.

The result of Steve’s investment was an infusion of capital that helped to finance major improvements on the courses and in the event center.

“With these improvements we’re looking forward to taking Bunker Hill to not just the next level, but to the top level of golf courses in the area,” Chad insists.

“We’ve also invested in new leading-edge landscaping equipment to give us a better cut on the turf, which improves our golfers’ experience, as well as drainage improvements and tee and green construction.”

Events and fundraisers are a passion of GM Chad Gibson.

Leagues and Lessons
“That makes it an exciting venue for our many 9- and 18-hole leagues, which include seniors, men, women, juniors and couples,” Chad says. “We have individual and team opportunities, stroke and scramble formats, structured and unstructured with weekly obligations, or come-when-you-can leagues available.”

Private and group lessons offered by Greg Jones Golf Academy help to ensure you’re always at the top of your game, Chad says.

“Lessons can be done on the course or on our simulators,” he says.
