As the daffodils are sprouting and the trees are leafing, beautifying the landscape outdoors, spring is also the perfect time to take a fresh look inside your home.

Maybe it is time to pull out your worn carpet and install the new gray-toned luxury vinyl plank flooring that is cropping up everywhere. Or, install new cabinets and countertops so you can finally get your dream kitchen.

And if you are cramped trying to fit into your home’s footprint, why not think about refinishing your basement, building an addition or adding a deck to extend your living space outdoors?

“If you have a home in a neighborhood you like, with neighbors you enjoy being around, it is more beneficial to renovate your home or build an addition rather than move,” says Ron Kaye, who, along with sons Josh and Joseph, owns Kaye Construction.

Working in the home remodeling industry for more than a quarter century, Ron is passing along his know-how and work ethic to his sons, who he jokingly says were born with a hammer in one hand and a screwdriver in the other.

“You will find the three of us working together on every project,” he says. “Unlike bigger home improvement companies, where you never meet the owners, we oversee each job personally and work alongside our tradesmen.”

“We are proud to be locally owned and family operated,” adds Josh. “Working directly with homeowners is a primary part of our business model.”

Depicting the father-sons trio, all with their trademark beards, the company logo accurately portrays the no-frills, hard work ethic of the company.

“We don’t spend money on fancy trucks and elaborate office showrooms,” comments Ron.

“By keeping our operating overhead low, we can offer homeowners an affordable option for custom building using high-end products. We don’t install floor coverings or cabinets that come from the national big box stores, but instead offer higher quality products from local suppliers.”

With in-house architectural services and kitchen layout designers, Kaye Construction works with homeowners to add functionality to their home.

The company specializes in kitchen renovations and can completely transform an average or outdated living space into a culinary masterpiece, as well as renovate bathrooms and add walk-in showers.

“We help homeowners make their home more efficient, whether that’s finishing a basement or building an addition for a growing family that needs more space or adding a first-floor bathroom so an elderly couple can age in place,” says Josh.

“No job is too big or too small,” he continues. “We have built a small, 100-square-foot bathroom addition on a limited lot size in Lakewood to an expansive 2,800-square foot, two-story addition in Columbia Station.”

In addition to room renovations, the company installs siding, windows, and roofing and builds custom decks.

As insurance specialists, Kaye Construction also helps homeowners who have had fire, water or storm damage to their home navigate the insurance claim process to make sure they get the best settlement and get their home back to normal as soon as possible.

“I personally meet with the adjuster, thoroughly document everything, and work on getting a fair insurance settlement,” states Ron.

“We work for the homeowner and not the insurance company,” he adds.

“I caution people that they should make sure they get paid directly by the insurance company and then pay a home remodeling company for the renovation, as opposed to using a remodeling company that directly gets paid by the insurance company.”
