Essa Zaboura fondly remembers taking apart his father’s cell phone as a little boy, trying to make sense of all the little parts and what made it work.

Now as owner of EZ-Tech Computers in Strongsville, his fascination with electronics has grown from a curiosity to a passion to a livelihood.

Founded in 2014, the shop repairs all computers, from desktops to laptops, new and old, Mac and PC, and even custom-built computers for gaming.

“I fully understand how panic can set in when your system fails,” says Essa, who has a degree in IT networking and securities.

“People’s computers are more important to their everyday lives than ever before. That’s why we offer 24-hour turnaround, free diagnostics and the peace of mind that any system we are repairing will only be serviced by me, and never leave this store.”

Diagnostics are free on all computers.

“We diagnose and repair any type of problem including virus removal, hardware failure, broken screen issues, power jack replacement and data recovery,” he says. “We can network computers for homes or businesses.”

To make the process even easier, he also makes house calls.

An Expert in Your Corner
In addition to service and repair, EZ-Tech sells nearly every make of new and refurbished computer, such as HP, Dell, MacIntosh, Toshiba and Sony, just to name a few. They buy, sell and trade computers and components, too.

When clients come in shopping for a new computer or upgrade, Essa asks them several questions to get to know their needs, such as what programs they’ll be running on the system, their budget and how long they plan to have the computer.

He reports the average lifespan of a computer is five to seven years, and that bringing it in for an annual maintenance tune-up can add life to those years.

“Unlike big box computer stores, I get to know my customers and do everything I can to build trust,” he says.

“I offer free computer set-up and data transfer, which other stores do not.”

Speed Up Your Computer
“Slow computer speed is one of the most common problems customers encounter,” says Essa.

While there are many avenues for Essa to speed up your system—such as upgrading your memory to an optimal level—he reports there are simple steps anyone can take to make sure their system is operating at its fastest.

  1. Keep your system updated
  2. Restart it frequently
  3. Run a reliable anti-virus software program
  4. Delete programs you never use and run fewer programs at the same time

“What you shouldn’t do is click on any of those ads online promising to speed up your computer, as most of them are scams,” he says.

“Also, beware of anyone calling you on the phone claiming to be from Microsoft trying to get your information. Believe me, Microsoft would never call you.”

Essa and his wife, Blanca, are Strongsville residents, and enjoy giving back to the schools and taking an active part in local business expos.
