Dr. Paul Vanek helped these patients rediscover their confidence

Women and men all over Northeast Ohio took charge of 2019 with a visit to Dr. Paul Vanek, of Vanek Plastic Surgery in Mentor, to make changes that put them on the path toward achieving goals they never thought possible.
Debbie
Debbie had surgery on her leg for a melanoma that left her leg scarred and disfigured. Her loss of confidence in her appearance affected her second career, acting in movies filmed around Northeast Ohio.
A friend told Debbie about Dr. Vanek, who is double board certified in general and plastic surgeries, a biochemist and physiology expert. He knows how the human body responds to surgical procedures and can manipulate its structures to produce aesthetically pleasing results for his patients, even if he didn’t perform the original surgery.
“It’s such a relief when a cancer is removed, but it can be difficult to live with that constant reminder in the form of an unsightly scar,” says Dr. Vanek. “Working in stages, I reduced the scar size and improved the contour of her skin, making it barely noticeable.”
Dr. Vanek’s treatment for Debbie’s leg included an intralesional excision procedure done in two stages that reduced the defect by more than 50 percent. Sciton ProFractional lasering improved the scar’s color match to Debbie’s skin, and an autologous fat transfer filled the depression and improved the leg’s contour.
Debbie is wearing dresses again and feeling more confident than ever.
Victoria and Lillian
Victoria Sharp believes that taking care of yourself, both physically and emotionally, makes you better—not only for yourself, but for everyone in your life.
“I performed Lillian’s breast augmentation in 2014 and Victoria came to me for her breast lift this past April,” says Dr. Vanek.
After an introductory consultation, where Lillian and Dr. Vanek discussed details of the procedure and recovery, Lillian’s surgery took place on a Friday and she was back to work on Monday.
“I placed cohesive silicone implants underneath Lillian’s muscle for a natural appearance,” says Dr. Vanek. “The incisions are small, resulting in very manageable pain.”

Hillary
Hillary loved everything about hitting the beach with her husband and friends, but something was always missing.
“There was nothing in my bikini top,” she says. “I had been an A-cup size since my 20s and clothes never fit right.”
