Dr. Jeffrey Christian joins his wife, Dr. Stefanie Christian, in practice at Timeless Laser & Skin Care

This month, Dr. Jeffrey and Dr. Stefanie Christian realize a long-awaited dream, as they will be working in concert again at Timeless Laser & Skin Care in Westlake.

The dynamic duo did their medical training together back in the 1980s, worked side-by-side for years as OB/GYN owners of Lakewood Obstetrics and Gynecology from 1999-2006, and both shifted their interest to aesthetic and rejuvenative medicine when they purchased their first cosmetic laser in 2003. Dr. Stefanie transitioned to full-time skin care in 2006 when founding Timeless Laser. I caught up with Dr. Jeff to find out more.

Q: How is your practice different from others?
A: Many skin care facilities are not physician owned and managed. Because our laser treatments are performed by Dr. Stefanie or me, patients benefit from a higher level of training and hands-on expertise. I think the biggest consideration that makes us different is our holistic approach to wellness. Each patient’s treatment plan begins with a complete health assessment. Knowledge is power. We educate our patients about changes that can improve not only their skin, but also lead to a healthier lifestyle.

Q: Do you have a favorite treatment?
A: I am excited about our vascular laser—the Excel V. This is the most advanced laser in the industry to treat spider veins on the legs, chest and face as well as generalized redness, such as rosacea. We also offer fractional laser treatments, medical-grade peels, facials, body contouring and facial injections to gently smooth lines and restore a more youthful look.

Q: What new treatments are you introducing to the practice?
A: So many of our patients suffer from the horrible symptoms of perimenopause and menopause. I’ve been able to correct these symptoms using plant-based, prescription, bio-identical hormone therapy. While many women choose to avoid traditional hormone replacement therapy because of the risks and side effects, bio-identical therapy has been shown to actually reduce risks. We have already begun hormone assessments on patients to bring this ground-breaking therapy to the area.
