At Valley Smile and Implant Studio in North Royalton, a patient-centered philosophy is geared toward delivering comfort, care and quality, all under the umbrella of high-tech dentistry.

“From a comfort standpoint, our goal is to make each patient’s overall experience a positive and pleasant one,” says Dr. Anqi Hu, who has just started at the practice along with Dr. Paul Mikhli. “We listen to the patient, and create their treatment plan based on their input. Education is what our care is based on. We consider patients to be our partners in care, working together to take a path for the best outcome. And, lastly, quality comes from our commitment to seeking continuing education, and working with only the latest technology and best materials.”

Dr. Hu brings an impressive background to the practice. She came to America from China at the age of 16. Following dental school at the University of Michigan, she went through her residency at Case Western Dental School and UH Medical Center.

Going Digital for More Precise Outcomes
Dr. Hu notes that the technology of intraoral scanner allows them to digitally capture more accurate images of the teeth and produces a high-quality product with a good fit. The process is safer, healthier, and more pleasant for the patient.

“We no longer have to take messy molds of teeth,” she says. “We just send the images directly to the lab to make new teeth.”

The practice provides a complete spectrum of care—including preventive, restorative and esthetic procedures—for all ages, children to seniors.

In addition to conventional dental services, the practice provides whitening, esthetic veneers, crowns& bridges, non-surgical root canal treatment, implants, same-day denture and Invisalign.

“The technology behind dental implants has advanced over the past 40 years,” she says,” This is an area of dentistry that I am really passionate about. Dental implants look and function like natural teeth. For patient who have trouble wearing lower denture, having implants as an anchor will drastically improve the speech and chewing function. Being able to bring back the confidence to smile, eat properly and have a better quality of life is so important.”

When asked what she likes best about her job, Dr. Hu smiles broadly and quickly answers, “My patients!” She says she’s already become acquainted with local families and they’ve made her feel welcome.

“I have always been a family-oriented person, and there are so many friendly people here,” she adds. “I am also fortunate to have a team that shares my passion for patients and dental care.”

Newly Renovated Space
Just in time for Dr. Hu’s arrival this month, the practice underwent a complete renovation, replacing old cabinetry, flooring and walls with a warm and welcoming environment including fresh, earthy colors, a tiled semi-circular front desk with granite counter and a gourmet coffee station.

“We wanted to strike a balance between homey and professional,” she says. “Patients who come early for their appointments enjoy hanging out with us for a while.”

Within the three open operatory stations, patients can sit back and watch television or just relax and take in the beautiful wooded views through the soaring windows. An in-house lab and sterilization area assure the techs at Valley Smile and Implant Studio operate with the highest level of quality control.

Dr. Hu’s office doubles as a meeting room, where she sits with patients to go over their treatment plans.
