Easter is still three weeks away, and if you’re sacrificing for the Lenten season you may be looking for some tasty meatless options to enjoy. If so, try Fairlawn’s Mr. G’s Pizzeria and Wings. It not only offers 15 different vegetable pizza toppings (plus anchovies), the Giardina family is also featuring their annual Lenten menu, as well plenty of year ‘round vegetarian options.
Here are the highlights:
Lenten Specials
From now until Easter Sunday, April 12, Mr. G’s is offering a number of homemade meatless entrées, including Jumbo Lobster Ravioli—large ravioli stuffed with lobster and two cheeses (ricotta and Parmesan) and smothered in a garlic Alfredo sauce. The $15.99 price includes bread and your choice of soup or a fresh salad.
New this year is the Jumbo Cheese Ravioli which is smothered in homemade marinara and topped with mozzarella cheese, $12.99.
Mr. G’s delicious, homemade Vegetable Lasagna is the perfect example of classic Italian comfort food. This limited-time dish features multiple layers of carrots, mushrooms, and spinach along with the delectable dual combo of both ricotta and mozzarella cheeses. Enjoy it now for just $14.99.
The Giardina family’s take on the classic Lenten Fish Fry features flaky white fish fried to a golden brown, plus french fries, coleslaw, tartar sauce and hushpuppies. It’s all-you-can-eat for just $10.99, but it’s served only on Wednesdays and Fridays during Lent. On Fridays during Lent, look for a delicious homemade clam chowder.
All of the other Lenten Special entrées above are served every day—until Easter.
The Everyday Meatless Menu
Mr. G’s regular menu also features plenty of non-meat entrées. In fact, half of the items are completely meatless, including Pasta Alio Olio for just $9.99; Mrs. G’s Famous Gnocchi, $13.99; Fettuccini Alfredo or Baked Ziti for $11.99; and Eggplant Parmesan, Stuffed Shells or Tower of Eggplant for $13.99.
And meatless pizza toppings include cheese, black olives, mushrooms, green peppers, hot peppers, spinach, green olives, onions, fresh tomatoes, pineapple, banana peppers, garlic, basil, eggplant, broccoli, and roasted red peppers.
And if you’ve given up gluten, be sure to try Mr. G’s gluten-free pizza. It’s so delicious, no one will know it’s wheat-less.
