Doing the right thing isn’t always the easiest thing. Just ask Tony Hoty.

In living up to his tagline of offering Clevelanders the best “selection, savings and service,” he and his team at Window Depot have researched and been trained in many different lines of windows.

“It would be a lot easier for us to just install one or two lines, which is what most window companies do,” he says. “It’s not practical for us to have to make sure our staff is well versed, and the installers are trained on many lines of windows, but we feel our clients deserve the extra effort it takes to choose from a wider selection of innovative models. We’re bringing more choices and value to the homeowner in terms of performance, energy efficiency and return on investment.”

Local, Amish-made Windows
“Our newest partnership is with a local company out of Sugarcreek,” he says. “ProVia has a culture that aligns with ours, focusing on integrity and service. These Amish-made windows feature meticulous old-world craftsmanship, including the top-rated Endure vinyl replacement window and Aeris real-wood hybrid window. Aeris checks all the boxes any homeowner would want. It offers superior construction and energy efficiency to wood replacement windows yet provides the elegant and luxurious look of wood. The company backs up its well-made products with warranties that last the life of the home, which is impressive.”

In addition to the better-known window manufacturers such as Andersen and Pella, Window Depot also offers high-performance lines.

“It’s interesting, we’ve had engineers from NASA request a window line called Okna, founded by Polish engineers,” says Tony. “The models use high-tech materials and design to offer the lowest air infiltration rating. Despite the big climate swings in Cleveland, Okna windows offer extreme energy efficiency. They are about as airtight as can be and the engineers appreciate that and are willing to pay for it.”

On the flip side, homeowners on a tight budget or owners of rental properties can select from builder-grade solutions here as well.

Get the Look You’ll Love
So many choices of window styles and color selections allow homeowners to match trim with crown molding, chair rails or wainscoting inside the home for a high-end look. Tony says the biggest style trend they are seeing is matte black trim.

“There is also style freedom when it comes to choosing grids to separate the panes,” he says. “They can either be placed between the glass, which is easier to clean, or on the exterior, for a more high-definition look. Designer grids can add character to any home.”

The company offers every size and style of window, going beyond standard sizes to include double-hung, casement, bay and bow, horizontal sliders, garden windows, picture windows and custom-built specialty windows.

Within Window Depot’s showroom, you can shop from full-size displays of windows and see for yourself which is the best fit for your home and budget. (If you’re lucky, you might meet Chief Morale Officer Daphne Hoty, a sweetheart rescue dog who works tirelessly as the company mascot and greeter.) The no-pressure team of consultants enjoys educating customers about features and benefits of each product line.

“We don’t want our customers to have to wait to get energy efficiency and lower heating and cooling bills, so we offer easy financing options,” he says. “Some clients choose to only have us install windows on the front of their home one year, and the rest the next year. That’s fine with us.”

Window Depot is located at 24510 Sperry Drive in Westlake. Showroom hours are Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Call 440-652-2900 or visit WindowDepotCleveland.com for more information.
