Fitness Together is ringing in the new year by welcoming a tenacious trio of trainers to its already bustling Bay Village studio.

These Cleveland natives each possess an infectious enthusiasm for helping others achieve their fitness goals.

“I don’t necessarily hire the person who has the longest list of certifications,” says owner Sean Sullivan. “I’m seeking the right personality type to fit within our culture. What matters most is they take exceptional care of our clients. Everything else is coachable.”

It takes an elite level of certified trainer to provide the elite level of one-on-one training offered in private suites that Fitness Together is so well known for.

Rachel Pekarski
After graduating from The University of Akron, Rachel moved to New York City for four years to pursue her career in personal training before returning to Cleveland. In addition to being certified as a personal trainer and nutritionist, Rachel also carries specialty certifications in Zumba, pre/post-natal, TRX and women’s health.

Her Style of Training: Upbeat. Rachel likes to keep her workouts fun and super positive. She takes pride in pushing clients to new levels and helping them see results fast. When not in the gym, you’ll find her reading, dancing, traveling and relaxing with her husband and their dog.

New Year’s Resolution: To go from five cups of coffee per day to two cups. “Little changes make a big difference in your overall nutrition. And I’ve been feeling over-caffeinated lately,” Rachel says.

Favorite Move: Squat with barbells, because it shapes up the legs and strengthens core at the same time

Krissy Nash-Duff
Krissy earned her degree in sports and exercise science at Cuyahoga Community College. She excelled as a competitive gymnast for 15 years and coached for five years. Her favorite event is a tie between the floor routine and bars.

  • Her Style of Training: Laser focused on form. Her passion for health and fitness stems from her athletic roots, especially from coaching. When not in the gym, you’ll find her hiking, traveling and fishing. She lives in Middleburg Heights with her husband, John-Paul, and their dog, Charley.
  • New Year’s Resolution: Bumping up cardio workouts to three times a week. “I do so much strength work, sometimes I forget the importance of cardio,” she says.
  • Favorite Move: Squat with barbell. “As a former gymnast, I appreciate how strong legs mean a stronger body,” Krissy states.

Mike Biello
This Mayfield Heights native began his education at Baldwin Wallace University studying health and physical education before finishing up at Cleveland State with a degree in exercise science.

  • His Style of Training: Intense. “The first time I went through a strenuous football workout in eighth grade, I loved it,” Mike says. “I couldn’t believe how different it made me look and feel.” Mike loves to share his passion for exercise with clients, or anyone else who likes to talk shop. When not in the gym, you’ll find him on the field or in the stands, as Mike’s an avid sports nut. He’s also an animal lover, who plans to take his black lab on more runs in 2019.
  • New Year’s Resolution: To run 10 miles per week. “I’m saying this because I actually don’t love to run,” Mike smiles. “And it’s important and beneficial to push yourself to do things you might initially resist.”
  • Favorite Move: Hang clean, because it engages the hips, legs and upper body.
