When you hear the backstory of how a company was founded, it usually reveals the character and passion behind the brand.

For All Starz Heating & Cooling, it is all about family and cherished values.

Bucking the trend of Northeast Ohioans flocking down to Florida seeking warmer weather, Johnny and Jasmine Karim sold their HVAC business in Fort Myers and packed up their three young children to move back up north.

“We wanted to be closer to family and raise our children in Ohio where I grew up,” says Jasmine, who graduated from Strongsville High School.

“It was a tough decision to sell a successful business and start a new company again,” says Johnny. “But it feels good to be back home.”

“Some of my first customers here are the same ones I serviced in Florida who live in Northeast Ohio and have winter homes down south. It’s all about building relationships with our clients.”

A hard-working, hands-on owner, Johnny learned the HVAC business from the ground up working as a service technician for 13 years in Cleveland before running his own HVAC company in Florida for eight years.

Now that the couple moved back home and founded All Starz Heating & Cooling in Strongsville this summer, it is a true family business. Johnny handles the repairs and installations and Jasmine works behind the scenes tending to the marketing, billing and scheduling. And even their 9-year-old daughter had input, as she was the one who came up with the company name.

“In Florida, our company was named after our geographic region, but our daughter said we should name our new company All Starz because she thinks her dad is an all star,” smiles Jasmine.

All Starz Heating & Cooling, owned by Johnny and Jasmine Karim—pictured here with their children—offers 24/7 emergency repair and service.

“When people contact us to repair their air conditioner or furnace or purchase a new one, we make sure every customer is satisfied,” comments Johnny. “We stand by our work and take pride in every job.”

Heating Up, Cooling Down
Whether you need annual maintenance, an emergency repair or a new unit installed, All Starz is a full-service heating and cooling company.

“Not only will we keep everything running at peak efficiency, but we also give our customers insight on how to best maintain their unit,” says Johnny. “And if your air conditioner or furnace breaks, we offer 24/7 emergency service and include a warranty with all services.”

The company services all makes and models of equipment, including gas and electric furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, humidifiers, air cleaners and hot water boilers for both residential and commercial clients. Plus, they are specially trained to handle commercial refrigeration, walk-in and reach-in coolers and freezers, and ice machines.

Get Ready for Temperature Swing
“This time of year, we are busy doing furnace tune-ups,” says Johnny. “By having us clean and check your furnace, it will prolong equipment life and save you from needing costly emergency repairs.”

“We just serviced a new client who called because their home was not cooling down,” he says. “The unit was only three years old but when we removed the cover the condenser coil was completely covered in dust, so it was struggling to cool the house. After we sprayed it and rinsed the dust and grime away, the air conditioner was back at peak performance. If a homeowner has us perform an annual tune-up, these types of issues never arise.”

In addition to clogged coils, another common issue that is easy to resolve is a loose wire that can cause overheating. Sometimes, however, air conditioners leak Freon, which can be a costly repair.

“As of January 2020, R22 will no longer be manufactured as it is being phased out, and, as a result, the cost of Freon will keep rising,” notes Jasmine. “So, if you have an older air conditioner, you will need to weigh the cost of replacing Freon versus buying a new unit.”

“Living up to our motto ‘your comfort is our priority,’ we offer money-saving solutions,” says Jasmine. “Whether maintaining, repairing or installing new equipment, we give you options for your home or business.”
