When it comes to smart phones, you may have heard the expression, “There’s an app for that,” meaning whatever you want your phone to do, some software developer has created an app to make it happen.

Well, if you spend any time with Alan Zatik, the founder and co-owner of ABC Equipment Rental & Sales along with Jamie Terpay, you’ll learn another truism:

There’s a tool for that.

After spending countless hours every spring edging my beds by hand with a shovel, Alan now tells me that there is something called a “bed edger” that can do it in minutes.

Who knew?

Alan also rents plenty of other equipment that can help the do-it-yourselfer tackle all kinds of spring lawn and garden projects, like over-seeding equipment, aerators, sod cutters, rototillers, lawn de-thatchers and lots more, including trenchers and mini-skid steers that a homeowner can learn to use in minutes.

But all this pales in comparison to what ABC Equipment Rental & Sales offers contractors.

Especially for Contractors
ABC specializes in helping contractors achieve the four goals they have for every job: do it safely, efficiently, on budget and on time.

“To be profitable, contractors have to finish each job safely and on schedule,” Alan says. “Every job has a deadline and you don’t want people dilly dallying around. So, put the ladders away and rent two 60-foot manlifts so you can work both sides of the job.”

Alan says that manlifts are ABC’s number one rental item, growing tremendously in the past 15-20 years.

“It’s because of safety and efficiency,” he says. “You can do five times the work compared to ladders or scaffolding. Manlifts, mobile platforms and booms are the top assets on the jobsite, especially with today’s labor shortage.”

ABC sells and/or rents top-quality brands, like Kubota, Genie, JLG, Skyjack, Wacker, Solar-Tech, Towmaster, Stihl, Honda, Mustang, Gehl, and more. With over 60 years of combined experience, Alan and Jamie know which brands work—and which don’t. They are especially proud to be a Kubota dealer, offering construction equipment like skid steers, excavators, wheel loaders, RTVs and rubber track loaders.

“We only offer heavy duty equipment,” Alan says. “We don’t carry brands that are less than commercial quality. So even if you’re a homeowner, you know you’re getting commercial quality.”

ABC’s clients include some of the area’s top contractors and municipalities.

“We’re also the best place to buy used equipment because we properly maintain it,” Alan assures. “We re-grease our equipment with every rental and we change the oil every 250 hours instead of the 500 suggested by the manufacturer. We go above and beyond the standards for our industry.”

...and Gentlemen Farmers
Right now ABC has special pricing on the all-new, heavy-duty Kubota RTV-XG850 Sidekick. It’s gas-powered so it goes faster than traditional utility vehicles. It’s ideal not only for contractors and municipalities, but also for gentlemen farmers and homeowners with lots of acreage.

“The Sidekick is an extremely versatile vehicle,” Alan says.

“It’s four-wheel-drive and features a dump bed. You can also add a snow plow, a spreader, tool boxes or even an ambulance cart for extra safety at sporting events.”

Easy Financing
Because ABC is locally owned and completely independent, they’re flexible, able to change things for the benefit of the client and get them their equipment faster. Plus, their inventory is “live” as soon as it’s put out in rental, which means it’s also for sale. In many cases, a portion of your rental can apply to an eventual purchase, with pre-agreed-upon terms.

In addition, ABC works with local banks to help you get financed and most manufacturers offer their own financing, including Kubota. Right now, you can get 0% interest for 48 months on all Kubota construction equipment.

Plus, Section 179 of the United States Internal Revenue Code allows you to write off equipment purchases in a single year instead of depreciating the expense over time. This means huge tax savings immediately on equipment you need right now, because whatever you need…

There’s a tool for that.
