Oasis Sunrooms by Joyce will build 150 high-quality sunrooms this year—in our area alone. Here’s how one of them can be yours.

If you’re a lover of television design shows, then you might have seen an episode or two of Hidden Potential. It’s the HGTV show where the designer walks a couple through three homes in need of some sprucing up, and then whips out her laptop to show them how fantastic the effects of the remodel will be.

Like most people, I find it difficult to see the possibilities of a design unless someone presents me with a visual representation of what the finished result will look like.

And when it comes to embarking on a project as large as the addition of a sunroom, seeing really is believing.

“Our designers sit down with you and with a few clicks of a mouse, quickly show you how your finished sunroom will look on a digital picture of your home,” explains Todd Schmidt, who along with his father Russ Schmidt owns Oasis Sunrooms, a division of Joyce Manufacturing.

In fact, the team at Oasis insists they do more design work than any other sunroom company in the area. “It’s important that the function of the room be addressed before just about anything else,” Todd emphasizes. “We spend a great deal of time with every homeowner, going over the details of their project.”

At your initial consultation, the Oasis designer does a full scale drawing of your home and takes into account any additional outdoor features you’ll be adding to complement your new sunroom—like patios, decks, and hot tubs.

Then they design the room around you.

“We’ll never try to force you into a room size you don’t need,” Todd assures. “Our customers depend on us to approach their project with their real needs in mind, and that’s something we never take for granted.”
Oasis Sunrooms was awarded the 2008 Professional Remodelers of Ohio first place award for Residential Exterior Projects, which recognized “outstanding design and construction.”

But when you’re listed among the best, the accolades typically start to pile up. That’s why Professional Builder magazine bestowed a second award upon Oasis just a few weeks ago. “Our Vinyl Leisure Room 2600 was voted one of the hundred best products of 2008, based upon technological advancement and product improvement,” Todd says with pleasure.

“People often think all sunrooms are the all same, but we’ve always been on the cutting edge of technology,” he adds. “We’re going to be around for a long time. We’ve got the best products in the industry and constantly invest in research and development.”

In fact, Oasis recently introduced the first break-through in glass technology in ten years. LoE3 (pronounced low-E-cubed) is a high performance glass that helps your room become the warmest room in the winter and the coolest in the summer. “We’ve completely transitioned to this new technology,” Todd says.

Joyce is the parent company of Oasis Sunrooms. They’ve been a family business since 1955 and design and manufacture every product they sell. Today, Joyce ships their products to home remodeling contractors in over 30 states. In Northern Ohio, Oasis Sunrooms installs Joyce’s products factory direct with the factory installation crews. “We can offer the best value because the customer has the advantage of buying factory direct. We’re also able to offer a greater choice of styles because everything is built at our headquarters in Berea,” Todd explains.

Options include anything from basic installation to having your new Oasis become an extension of your interior living space. “We can construct your sunroom to blend in beautifully with your home,” Todd promises. “Some customers have an existing door and the sunroom can be located around it, or we can add a set of French doors to provide access to the room, it’s really up to you. Imagine the possibilities!”

Your designer will also take into account the way your family lives and how you want the room to function. “We can highlight a certain view, or hide a part that doesn’t appeal to you,” he shares. “It’s about what you want, not about how much we can get you to buy.”

If you want a simple screened in room with a ceiling fan, they can do that. Or if you’d like them to create an all-season room that functions as a room addition they can do that, too.

“Your home is the largest investment you’ll ever make and we respect that,” Todd assures. “A project like this can be stressful, but we’ve got the expertise to guide you through it, every step of the way.”

In addition to offering a wide variety of products, Oasis backs up everything they offer with customer service that stems from a history of designing and building hundreds of sunrooms “We’ll install more than 150 sunrooms this year—just in our area alone,” he projects. Oasis employs three full-time crews and every person who shows up to the job site is an employee of the company.

“Our installation manager is in his 25th year with us. Our other two crew leaders have 12 and 14 years with us,” Todd comments. “My dad and I review every project before it ever leaves the factory. That’s the kind of difference we provide. We know this business inside and out and we have many referrals from happy customers that we can share.”

Oasis backs all of their products and installations with a full lifetime warranty that is transferable should you decide to sell your home.

And now they want to give you the opportunity to discover the benefits of adding an Oasis to your backyard—free. One lucky Mimi reader will win “The Experience of a Lifestyle,” courtesy of Oasis Sunrooms.

“It’s a prize valued at over $10,000,” Todd beams. See the sidebar to the right for details on how to enter.
