WINNER! Mimi's Ugliest Lawn Contest
The winner of Mimi’s Ugly Lawn contest is Melissa Martie of West Akron. She’ll receive a free summer lawn treatment from Advanced Quality Lawn Care.
Sixty-eight desperate homeowners from all over Northeast Ohio submitted photos of their ugly lawns in the
hopes of winning a season-long lawn treatment from Advanced Quality Lawn Care.
With over 675 votes emailed in from all over the United States, voters have determined that “Ugly Lawn #25,” owned by Melissa Martie from West Akron, is in fact the “ugliest of them all.”
Here’s Melissa’s sad tale of woe:
“I moved into my home last September. As a first-time homeowner and someone without a green thumb, I was excited to see beautiful landscaping that wouldn't require much upkeep from me. I did, however, fail to notice that my “green” lawn was more moss than grass. Now spring has come and the moss is brown and the lawn is, once again, growing uneven in height (and color) due to my mix of moss and grass. Please help!”
