One of the most affordable and enjoyable summer hotspots is the patio at Cherokee Hills’ Coppertop restaurant. “The prices are unbelievable for what you get,” promises Chad Gibson, director of golf.

Graciously positioned over the 18th hole at Cherokee Hills Golf Course, the patio at Coppertop restaurant offers a resort-like atmosphere, complete with high-end amenities—for a fraction of what you might expect to pay.

Overlooking expansive green fairways, a peaceful fishpond, and Cherokee Hills’ 18th hole, the outdoor patio at its Coppertop restaurant may be the ideal place to relax with a refreshing summer beverage as the sun disappears below the horizon. Cherokee Hills, home of the hassle-free golf outing and the hassle-free party, is opening its patio for a summer of hassle-free food, drink and entertainment.

“We have so many great indoor rooms for banquets and parties, but people have been raving about the patio,” says Chad Gibson, director of golf at Cherokee Hills. “People want to be outdoors in the summer, so we’re really going to open it up to some great fun this year.”

The fun starts on Friday afternoons when you can play nine holes for $27.50. That includes a cart and a $10 certificate for dinner. Arrive after 6:15 p.m. and you get the same deal for $22.50.
“This is an ideal get-together for couples,” Chad says. “Playing nine with dinner out on the patio all for just $22.50 is a perfect way to spend a Friday night. It’s a beautiful venue with the trees lit up and great shadows created by the sunset.”

Between 6:30 and 10:30 each Friday night, light live entertainment is provided by a rotation of keyboard player Bill Newman, or guitarists Ray Conde or Jeff Lerner.

The patio is open daily from 7:00 a.m. until dark for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and, starting in June, for family barbecue cookouts every Sunday, from 3:00 p.m. until close.

The cookouts feature dinner entrees along with all-you-can-eat sides.

Entrees, like the seven-ounce Flat Iron Montreal Steak, for $7, or a slab of ribs, for $11, are displayed on ice, so you can choose your own before it is carefully grilled to your taste.
The unlimited-sides buffet, featuring items like corn on the cob, fresh fruit, baked beans and potato salad, costs $6 alone or $4 with an entrée.

Weekly specials at the barbecue include such surprises as grilled swordfish.

“The prices are unbelievable for what you get,” Chad promises. “Plus, we have a variety of incredible homemade sauces to go with the entrees, like peach, teriyaki, or our sweet heat sauce. The kids always get a big kick out of being able to choose their own meat.”

And they will be thrilled by the tableside preparation of flaming Bananas Foster for dessert, not to mention the kids’ station, which features coloring books and games.
Drink specials at the barbecue include a huge pitcher of sangria, homemade with fresh fruit—about the equivalent of seven drinks—for $24.

Coppertop holds Happy Hour seven days a week, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., with daily drink specials, like $12 buckets of six domestic bottles on Sundays, $4 martinis on Mondays, $4 Long Island Iced Teas on Tuesdays, Wednesday ALL DAY Happy Hour and $3 Margaritas on Thursdays.
On the FOREth Mondays of July and August, between 7:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m., the charming Loft at Coppertop will feature the Odd Couple, Paulie and Peggy, from Brigid’s Cross, leading the crowd in karaoke, singalongs and Irish entertainment.

The Loft, Chad says, is the perfect venue for events for up to 40 people.

“The Loft displays the true beauty of the renovated barn we are named for,” Chad explains. “Under the 40-foot ceilings we have a 170-inch wide screen TV and a pool table.”

The banquet room and upstairs veranda can accommodate larger parties.

“We still have some availability for summer events,” Chad says. “It may not be too late to book a hassle-free party.”

And don’t forget about the great golf at Cherokee Hills.

“The course is so gorgeous that people sometimes forget we’re a public course,” Chad says. “Ask us about our specials and our fundraising opportunities.”

With 22,000 square feet of indoor space, plus the patio, Coppertop at Cherokee Hills, Chad promises, has plenty of room.

“Don’t let the parking lot fool you,” he says. “It always looks jammed because people know a great deal when they see one. But don’t worry, we have room for you.”
