Imagine. Hair that’s sculpted, cut and shaped into the image you always knew was there, but couldn’t seem to find a hairstylist with the right know-how to get it. With the launch of Amanda Skinner’s contemporary new Studio Luxe Salon in Stow, every wish you’ve ever had about getting the perfect cut is about to come true.
“We’re the only salon in the area that uses the ‘Sahag’ method of dry hair-cutting,” Amanda explains. The Sahag method is a unique cutting technique introduced by John Sahag, stylist to the stars and known in the industry as the Michelangelo of hair. Amanda has trained extensively in his artistic method of cutting hair and the result is a style that’s as unique as you are.
At Studio Luxe, there’s no such thing as a “cookie cutter” haircut. Every client benefits from custom shaping and a cut that’s designed exclusively for him or her. “We love pictures,” Amanda invites. “It gives us an idea of what look our clients are going for. But having a cut like everyone else can be boring. Instead, we bring out your best features and your personal style.”
Amanda has personally trained her entire team in the Sahag method. After a year of rigorous studying under Amanda, Melissa has become a real pro and serves some very happy clients. “I like to equate what we do with getting a university degree,” Amanda smiles. “Most stylists are happy to settle for an associate’s degree in styling. We continually learn and take classes. We like to think we’re striving toward our doctorates. We’re masters at our craft.”
With that philosophy serving as the foundation for her business model, Amanda opened Studio Luxe Salon with one thing in mind—hair. “Spa treatments are great,” she adds, “but if we’re doing those too, then we aren’t able to focus on custom cuts. Rather than having a team that does it all, we do hair extremely well—period.”
Appointments at Studio Luxe typically last from 45 minutes to an hour. “Our haircuts are unique in that a client doesn’t typically need a trim for about 10 weeks,” Amanda explains. “A new Sahag cut looks great, even as it grows out. Or as we like to say, as it grows ‘into’ another style.”
The salon is the area’s exclusive provider of the ghd (good hair day) line of styling products. A renown industry name in Europe for years, ghd has only recently become recognized as a top name in the states. Amanda insisted on offering this top quality brand of retail products, to match the kind of stylists that represent her salon.
