Stand by for news!

The Rock ‘n Roll Hall of Fame and Museum not only is bringing the 2009 induction ceremony to Cleveland on April 4, but many other legendary performances throughout Northeastern Ohio as well.

A free concert will be held at CSU’s Wolstein Center on April 2 featuring The O’Jay’s, Dave Mason, and more Hall of Fame Alumni—TBA. New inductee Little Anthony & The Imperials will play the Agora on April 3. The Kent Stage will be hosting a rare appearance by Jack Bruce, bass player from the power trio supergroup Cream, on April 1.

If you have never seen a sevenstring guitar, you’ll want to see how Roger McGuinn created the sound that not only made The Byrds, but also influenced the likes of Tom Petty on April 3. For those of you who were shut out of getting tickets to the inductions at Public Hall, you can still get tickets for the live simulcast feed shown at the Hall of Fame for only five bucks.

There will be a vinyl tribute to 2009 inductee Bobby Womack and a performance by Eli “Paper Boy” Reed
& The True Loves at the Beachland Ballroom on March 26. House of Blues will host former Allman Brothers guitar slinger Dickey Betts on March 14. Legendary blues master B.B. King’s show March 27, and 2009 inductee Jeff Beck’s show April 15 at HOB are both sold out. But if anybody can get you in the door, I know Scotty Merk from Merk’s Tickets can.

Now, the rest of the story.
All-star drummer Joe Vitale has added three additional book signings at area Borders Books & Music Stores for his Joe Vitale Backstage Pass. This excellent read covers Joe’s “history in stories” from the road and in-studio sessions that span a 40-year career with the likes of Joe Walsh, the Eagles, Neil Young, Peter Frampton, Dan Fogelberg, Crosby, Stills & Nash, and more. Signings are scheduled for March 20 at 7 p.m. in Medina; March 21 at 3 p.m. in Strongsville; and March 28 at 3 p.m. in Cuyahoga Falls. RIP Paul Harvey.
Good day.
