Fuerst in Service

For the second year in a row, Bob Stout (pictured) and the staff of Fuerst Automotive were awarded the national achievement award from AC Delco.
Bob is doing his part to keep fellow Ohioans working by featuring Cooper Tires, made in Findlay, and ProGuard Eco motor oil, re-refined in Columbus.
Here’s why Fuerst Automotive repair shop is a first choice.

Small business, insists Bob Stout, is the backbone of America.
“And I’m proud to be a part of that,” he proclaims.
Bob and his wife, Sheri, owners of Fuerst Automotive, in Broadview Heights, have been living their American dream for 26 years, operating their auto repair shop on the old fashioned principle of quality service at a fair price.
The auto industry, which once was as American as jazz and apple pie, long ago went global—and harder to keep tabs on. “American” cars are built in foreign factories while “foreign” cars are made in Ohio, Kentucky, and Georgia. Virtually every car on the road is a conglomeration of American and foreign made parts.
While servicing them all—whether American, European or Asian—Bob is doing his part to keep fellow Ohioans working by featuring Cooper Tires, made in Findlay, and re-refined ProGuard Eco motor oil, made in Columbus. All of the reliable AC Delco replacement parts Fuerst installs on your car may not be American made, but, Bob notes, as a subsidiary of General Motors, sales of AC Delco parts contribute toward the pensions of retired GM auto workers.
“Especially in a bad economy, we need to support our own,” Bob says.
That’s one reason why he features Cooper tires.
“They’re not only made in Ohio, but they are great tires, too,” opines Rick Sunderman, one of the highly qualified ASE certified technicians at Fuerst. “They are as good, if not superior, to the better known brands. Cooper has tires for all applications, from passenger cars to high performance to light trucks. For passenger cars, we like the CS4 touring tire. It is long-lasting and durable, with a nice ride at a very competitive price.”
Fuerst recommends Cooper, but if you are partial to a different brand, no problem. They can get you just about any tire you want.
Another Ohio product, ProGuard Eco motor oil, is environmentally responsible while helping to reduce American dependence on foreign oil. Just like paper, cans, and other recyclables that are collected and turned into new products, ProGuard Eco is made from used oil collected at service centers and re-refined at a plant in Columbus.
“After it is re-refined and all of the contaminants are removed, the oil is actually cleaner than it was when it was first refined from crude,” Bob says.
The re-refined oil meets all manufacturers warranty requirements, he promises.
And speaking of the environment, Fuerst Automotive specializes in the repair of hybrids. In fact, Bob wrote the hybrid repair training course for Cuyahoga Community College, where he is an advisor to the automotive repair program. GM recently filmed a hybrid training video featuring Bob in the bays of Fuerst Automotive.
“Hybrids are becoming strong in the market and have many benefits,” Bob says. “But, they definitely need to be serviced by someone completely trained in the technology. In general, hybrids are less costly to maintain when done correctly. I think they represent an important alternative for buyers.”
Whether they drive a hybrid, or a gasoline or diesel powered vehicle, many people assume that they have to have it serviced by their dealership in order to satisfy warranty requirements.
Not so, Bob advises. You can choose any auto service, and he wants to be Fuerst on your list.
As a customer of Fuerst Automotive, your service records always will be just a mouse-click away—and password protected—at the Fuerst website. While you’re logged on, you might check out the testimonials page, where Fuerst’s AC Delco customer service comment report is proudly displayed.
“Some places list two or three comments on their testimonials page,” Bob says. “I think we have a couple of hundred.”
Along with offering green and Ohio made products, Bob and Sheri recently found another way to help their community and change the world. They are among the latest new members of the Rotary Club of North Royalton and Broadview Heights.
Fuerst Automotive is located at 8116 Broadview Road, on the southwest corner of Wallings and Broadview. You can reach them at 440-526-4994, or visit www.FuerstAuto.com.
