One of the most stressful things about the holiday season is the pressure we feel to select the right gifts for key people on our list. Discovering a perfect gift that is appropriate, meaningful and affordable is difficult indeed, so difficult that we often give up and purchase a meaningless gift card instead.
But Scott Sella, the talented east coast floral designer who earlier this year acquired West Akron’s popular Every Blooming Thing florist shop, on West Exchange Street, is helping his customers custom design holiday gift baskets based on the unique hobbies and interests of the recipient.
“Our customers love having a say in designing their basket,” Scott explains. “If you tell us what your recipient is interested in, we’ll work together to create a basket that is truly meaningful. We’ll even shop around for specific products.”
Baskets based on beer, wine and golf are always popular, but so is the new Jane Snow basket, which Scott created exclusively after meeting with the award-winning food writer.
“Jane’s new book is a popular gift this year,” Scott explains, “but we wanted to take it to another level.”
The Jane Snow baskets includes an autographed copy of Jane’s new book along with some of her favorite treats, including champagne, Temo’s Chocolates and the revived Corn Toasties from Nickles Bakery. When Jane learned that Nickels had stopped manufacturing Corn Toasties, she wrote an “obituary” for the product and the company brought them back.
All of Scott’s baskets are beautifully wrapped and typically feature accents of pine and flowers, so you get a highly professional presentation—not just “a bunch of tissue paper.”
Every Blooming Thing also designs affordable wreaths and centerpieces for your door, holiday table or fireplace mantle. “We use a lot of pine on our centerpieces,” Scott says. “They last a long time and fill your home with a genuine pine scent. Pine centerpieces or a fresh wreath are the perfect gift for someone who puts up an artificial tree or doesn’t have the time or energy to do a lot of decorating.”
Scott also offers a large selection of poinsettias in both traditional and trendy colors. “Some of the new colors are beautiful and exotic, but our top seller is still red,” Scott smiles. Poinsettias are available for delivery or pick up.
Perhaps the best thing about a gift from Every Blooming Thing is that you don’t have to wait until Christmas to send it. Gifts of flowers, baskets, centerpieces, wreaths, etc. can be enjoyed from the day they are delivered throughout the holiday season.
