Dance d'Elegance
Learning to dance will help you in goal setting, discipline, achievement, self confidence, assuredness and pride...
If you make a mad dash for the dessert table when the band strikes up because you just aren’t comfortable on the dance floor, check out Char Klimko’s popular ballroom dance studio Dance d’Elegance in Medina. In fact, a new beginner’s class is forming right now.
Shall we dance?

Have you ever heard the delightful quote: “Dance like nobody’s watching and love like you’ve never been hurt?” These are wonderful words to live by. Except when you learn to dance with Char Klimko at Dance d’Elegance, you’ll want everyone to watch.
According to Char, clients of all ages come to her studio for many different reasons. Teenagers come to be confident dancing at their proms and in social situations; bridal couples want their bridal dance to be special; mom and dad often come before their children’s wedding and find they enjoy it so much they continue; of course, dancing is a very romantic “date night” for couples and singles are always welcome; and men who dance often become popular because women love to dance.
But what they all get from ballroom dancing is confidence, exercise, and lots of new friends.
“Hit television shows like Dancing with the Stars and So You Think You Can Dance, and movies like Shall We Dance have created a serious ballroom dancing buzz” explains Char. “When men see popular professional football players learning to dance it can really inspire them. Once you get started, the results are magical.”
Beginners start with Fox Trot, Waltz, and Swing, followed by Latin dances like Rumba, Cha Cha, Tango, Samba, Merengue and a special Salsa class.
Dancing serves as a remarkable stress reliever. A busy day of pressure melts away as you learn the steps and feel yourself relaxing. In addition to relieving stress, becoming a competent dancer is also a fabulous overall learning experience. “Learning to dance will help you in goal setting, discipline, achievement, self confidence, assuredness and pride in your own abilities,” Char says.
Dancing is also great exercise with many muscle and cardio benefits.
“Most men will not dance in public unless they feel confident, yet there are so many times when a man is called upon to dance, including at weddings, formals, parties, and corporate functions,” insists Char, who has a way of making men feel comfortable while they are learning to dance. “In this situation, the men are always the leaders—and they love it.”
At Dance d’Elegance they take things one step at a time. “Our teaching style is different from most studios,” Char explains. “It’s progressive and we review each week. We won’t make you change partners and everyone gets individual attention. Here, you won’t get lost in the crowd. We aren’t out to make you a competitive dancer—just the best dancer you want to be.”
Then you won’t mind if anyone is watching.
Right now Char is offering a beginner’s special: Buy seven classes and you get two free. New classes begin September. 10.
