Perhaps, the most beloved art movement of all time, Impressionism, had its roots in France, but soon inspired artists around the world.
Although, Impressionism was embraced by many well-known and influential Russian Artists in the late 19th century, and thus holds an important place in the history of that country art, it has remained as unknown in its own country, as in the West.
First criticized by Russian revolutionary Avant-garde movement at the turn of the 20th century, than suppressed by the Soviet Regime up through the 1970-s, it is only in resent years that Russian Impressionism is claiming its rightful place in the history of Russian and World Art.
The Artworks, presented by Opus Gallery- is the collection of paintings by one Russian Family of artists (Father and Son) Mark Kremer and Alexander Kremer, through the 20th century, is the fine example of Russian impressionism.
