Beginning this week, the Brunswick  Campus of Medina General Hospital will reveal a new image—and its new radiology staff is ready to get some of your images as well.

The campus, located on Route 303 next to Buehler’s, is the site of the hospital’s new state-of-the-art Brunswick Imaging Center.

The Brunswick Imaging Center will provide a full range of imaging services, like Open MRI, CT Scanning, Ultrasound, Mammography, Bone Density Scanning and general X-ray.
New additions to the facility include a brand new CT scanner, an Open MRI and Ultrasound equipment.

“More and more imaging work is being done on an outpatient basis,” explains Dr. James Littman, radiologist for Medina General. “This facility will make it much easier for patients to have their work done in a convenient way.”

Scott Berg, administrative director of radiology for Medina General, says thousands of residents each year take advantage of the hospital’s radiology services.

“We’re bringing our imaging capabilities close to home for Brunswick residents so they don’t have to travel to Medina,” Scott says. “We have had a long-standing relationship with the Brunswick community and we’re excited to bring more services here in order to make it more convenient for our patients.”

The Brunswick Campus has operated as a satellite of Medina General since 1985.
Scott emphasizes that you don’t have to be a patient of Medina General Hospital or its physicians to use the new imaging center.
“We can take referrals from any physician,” he says. “Once your doctor requests an MRI or other image, you have the choice of where to have it done.”

And speaking of images, the new facility may change your perception of the traditional old x-ray department.

“The décor and atmosphere in here is homey and comforting,” explains Robin Louis, spokeswoman for Medina General. “We stayed away from the white, sterile environment. Everything here has been designed to enhance a positive experience for patients, from the friendly customer service they receive to our appearance.”

Make no bones about it. If you’ve had the experience of lying on an x-ray table counting the holes in the ceiling while waiting for your x-ray to be processed, you’ll appreciate the overhead murals at the Brunswick Imaging Center.

Among the brand new equipment at the center is a state-of-the-art Open MRI.

“Traditional MRI machines enclose patients in a tight tunnel,” Scott explains. “The Open MRI is designed to be less confining, which is perfect for people who are claustrophobic or are large in size.”

All imaging equipment at the Brunswick Imaging Center, including x-ray equipment, is completely digital. Digital imagery not only allows the radiologist to zoom in and access a variety of views, but it also allows for easy and timely transfer of digital files from the Imaging Center to your doctor. Patients at the Brunswick Imaging Center can expect to get test results within 24 hours.

The hours are convenient as well. General x-ray patients are seen on a walk-in basis. For other imaging services, same-day or next-day appointments are available. The Brunswick Imaging Center schedules appointments six days a week between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. And the center accepts most insurance.
Along with the Brunswick Imaging Center, the Brunswick Medical Campus includes an Immediate Care Center, which treats minor injuries and illnesses six days a week, performs blood drawing and offers physical and occupational therapy.

The new Brunswick Imaging Center is located at 3724 Center Road, in Brunswick. Call 330-220-2510 for more information or to schedule an appointment.
