Bruno Brothers

Lessons are affordably priced at $16 for a half-hour, compared to as much as $25 at some places, Bob says. Lessons are available for a wide range of instruments, including saxophone, brass, guitar, orchestra strings, drums, keyboard, bagpipes and voice.
Professional musicians will also find an extensive selection of instruments to help keep them in tune.
The boys are back in town! Bruno Brothers Music has re-opened its original Strongsville location on Pearl Road. Here’s how their staff can help you learn to play—the right way.

For more than a year after Bruno Brothers closed their Strongsville music store on Pearl Road, their sign continued to hang above the door. The sign remained so familiar that almost a year after Bruno Brothers returned to Strongsville, some passersby still aren’t sure whether or not the store is actually open.
Well, to clear it up, yes, the Bruno Brothers Music Shoppe is back and has returned to its spot at the top of the Strongsville charts for music lessons, and sales and rentals of new and used instruments ranging from beginner models to professional quality.
“We cater to the pro and the not so,” says co-owner Bob Bruno, reciting the store’s long-time motto.
Bruno Brothers has been doing it for 28 years, and with an emphasis on friendly, expert service, continues to buck the impersonal—and often knowledge-challenged—mega-store trend. Bruno Brothers recently was voted the best musical instrument store in the Cleveland area on My Fox Cleveland’s Hotlist.
The Strongsville location closed more than two years ago while Bruno Brothers established a new location in Brunswick. The void they left was noticeable and long-time customers helped convince them to return.
“We got the open arms treatment when we reopened,” Bob says.
Meanwhile, they are looking to expand the Brunswick store and are considering a third location.
“Our customers are a part of the family,” says co-owner Clint Sobie. “You’re not going to get personal one-on-one service when you buy online or when you go to the big box stores. We have a knowledgeable staff that will help you get the best quality equipment at an honest price.”
The musical knowledge is first-hand.
The Bruno Brothers Band, with Bob on the sax and guitar, is one of Cleveland’s most popular dance and party bands, having performed for more than 25 years. Bob has played with such national acts as the Temptations, the Coasters and Sonny Geraci. Clint’s band, Vinyl Approach, bills itself as “old guys with horns” and features some of the area’s most talented musicians.
Their experience has helped them choose top-quality instructors who give one-on-one lessons to more than 300 students a week.
“We’re very fussy about our instructors,” Bob says, “Our instructors are not just talented musicians, they really know how to communicate with their students.”
Bruno Brothers’ instructors also are sticklers for the fundamentals.
“A lot of students find the fundamentals tedious,” Bob says. “But you have to learn the rules before you can break them. I taught myself the guitar, but I took lessons on the saxophone. Looking back I wish I had taken formal guitar lessons, too. It is very important to learn the basics.”
Lessons are affordably priced at $16 for a half-hour, compared to as much as $25 at some places, Bob says. Lessons are available for a wide range of instruments, including saxophone, brass, guitar, orchestra strings, drums, keyboard and bagpipes, as well as your own personal instrument—your voice.
And the lessons aren’t just for school kids. As Clint points out, “You’re never too old to learn.”
Bruno Brothers offers a wide selection of new and used instruments for all skill levels and their flexibility makes it convenient and virtually risk-free to give a new instrument a try.
“You can rent to own, you can trade an instrument if you don’t like it, or you can trade up for something better,” Bob says.
With the holidays coming up, it’s a great time to get a sweet deal at Bruno Brothers.
“We have electric guitars starting at $99 and a five-piece drum set starting at $299,” Bob says. “Our school band instruments are on sale at 40-percent off.”
