Do you hear that? It’s the sound of annual yard work calling out your name. Golf leagues will be starting up again and your children’s sports programs are right around the corner. Mentally you may be ready for these things, so why not also prepare yourself physically?
Dr. Ben Glass, with over twelve years of experience in chiropractics, opened Jefferson Park Spine Specialists to help you do just that. “Suffering with unnecessary neck or back pain is no way to go through life,” Dr. Glass assures.
Unique in his profession, Dr. Glass carries the credentials of DACBR (Diplomat of the American Chiropractic Board of Radiology) after his name. This means that not only does he offer chiropractic treatment, but—as a radiologist—he is also able to analyze key images from X-rays to MRIs.
The Cox Technique
“As a DACBR, I can more accurately diagnose and treat my patients, which results in better overall care. My particular chiropractic education is new to our area,” explains Dr. Glass, who is one of only four chiropractic/radiologist physicians in the state of Ohio certified to perform the “Cox Technique” (flexion-distraction). While there are nearly 60,000 chiropractors nationally, he says, only 1% focus on studying and caring for the most difficult spine pain conditions with the well-researched protocols of the Cox Technique.
This technique, named for Dr. James Cox, is a non-surgical chiropractic adjustment that works hand-in-hand with the body’s natural tendency to heal itself. “I offer a safe alternative to back or neck surgery,” Dr. Glass promises.
“My aim is not just to make you feel better, but also to offer a proven alternative that truly helps you lead a happier, healthier life.”
Since 1993, the U.S. government has provided funding to research the effectiveness of the Cox Technique. Studies have been conducted among many research institutions, including but not limited to the National University of Health Sciences and Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine.
Through these studies, researchers determined that 95% of back and neck pain does not actually require surgery. In addition, nine out of 10 patients receiving this treatment felt improvement within three months. And, perhaps most importantly, fewer than 4% of these cases were candidates for surgery after care.
“My goal is to eliminate the need for my patients to undergo surgery because the body will often correct itself when the Cox Technique is used,” Dr. Glass emphasizes.
Is It Right For You?
This specific technique has proven effective at widening the spinal canal, increasing disc space height, and reducing pressure on spinal nerves. It helps to restore normal motion to the spine, decrease pressure on the disc and treat many sprains.
The Cox Technique might be right for you if you suffer from:
Sciatica
Stenosis
Headaches
Disc herniation
Degenerative disc disease
Whiplash-type injuries
Hip pain
Failed back surgery
Pregnancy back pain
Failed course of steroid injections
Osteoporosis
“Almost anyone can benefit from the positive effects of this technique,” Dr. Glass assures. “The more people who become aware of these findings, the more likely they are to take advantage of this type of remarkable advancement—and avoid the need for surgery.”
Jefferson Park Spine Specialists is located at 17900 Jefferson Park, Suite 101 in Middleburg Heights. Dr. Glass is in the office Monday through Saturday and is able to work around your schedule. If you are interested in scheduling an appointment, please call 440-891-6299.
