Advanced Pain Relief

The treatment not only accelerates the body’s natural healing ...it also inhibits the pain associated with the damage.
Laser therapy is approved by the FDA and has been used internationally by doctors and hospitals for nearly 40 years.
Strongsville’s Starek Chiropractic Center is one of the first in the nation to offer leading edge Class 4 Therapeutic Laser. It’s 250 times more powerful than traditional “cold laser”—and it works.

With the availability of therapeutic laser therapy, there is no reason to go through life in pain. Laser therapy offers a safe, non-surgical treatment for chronic pain in the back, neck, joints, soft tissue and other injuries.
This wonderful new technology, which has improved the lives of countless pain sufferers, has now become even more effective with the introduction of a new, more powerful laser. And Dr. James Starek, of Starek Chiropractic Center, in Strongsville, is the first in the area—and one of the first 10 nationwide—to have it. The new technology is known as Class 4 Therapeutic Laser.
“The new laser is 250 times more powerful than what is called a ‘cold laser,’” Dr. Starek explains. “That means the treatment is more effective and can be done in a much shorter period of time. A treatment that would have taken 15-20 minutes with the cold laser, can now be done in four minutes and in approximately half the appointments. This is revolutionary in non-invasive pain management.”
With all that power, you might think the treatment itself would be painful.
Not at all.
The laser, emitted from a hand-held device much like a flashlight, actually creates a soothing, warm sensation on the skin.
“Everybody who has had the treatment has said, ‘Wow, this is really relaxing,’” Dr. Starek insists. “But the best part is that it works.”
The treatment not only accelerates the body’s natural healing process to repair damage, it also inhibits the pain associated with the damage.
At the first sight of inflammation around an injury, most people tend to take measures to reduce it—often through anti-inflammatory medication. But the inflammation process actually is essential to healing. The inflammation process creates macrophages that eliminate damaged tissue. By reducing inflammation, you are impeding your body’s attempts to repair itself.
The problem is, inflammation usually causes discomfort.
Using laser therapy, Dr. Starek accelerates the body’s natural healing process to eliminate damaged tissue, but without the discomfort of inflammation.
“At this power, the laser inhibits the pain fibers in the nerves, so it also provides an analgesic effect,” he says.
Dr. Starek was introduced to the high-powered laser two months ago at a seminar. For almost 18 years he suffered from chronic shoulder pain that resulted from a sports injury.
“At the seminar they gave me a three-minute laser treatment and it was the first time in years that I felt relief,” Dr. Starek recalls. “I said I have to offer this to my patients.”
Laser therapy is ideal for people with rotator cuff injuries, tennis elbow, knee and foot injuries, herniated disks and a variety of other problems.
Laser therapy is approved by the FDA and has been used internationally by doctors and hospitals for nearly 40 years.

Fitting your foot
Arch support is a multi-billion industry, notes Dr. James Starek, of Starek Chiropractic Center.
“Much of that business is people buying arch supports off the shelf,” Dr. Starek says. “I usually tell my patients to try that first to see if it works. But those supports aren’t custom made to fit your foot, and some people are in need of that extra support, so they should consider being fitted for orthotics.”
Orthotics are orthopedic devices designed to treat or adjust various biomechanical foot disorders.
Dr. Starek’s brand new digital foot scanner makes the fitting process more precise—and efficient.
“This takes the place of making a cast impression of your foot,” he explains. “This is just like an optical scanner that copies a document, but it digitizes the foot and puts the data into a computer. The program then designs an orthotic that is perfect for your foot. It is highly accurate and there should be no need for adjustments after it is made.”
Because your specifications are emailed directly to the manufacturer, the process takes less time than the traditional method.
“If you have feet you probably need orthotics,” Dr. Starek says. “Your feet are the foundation of your body. As goes the foundation, so goes the house.”
If your shoes show uneven wear or if you are having foot or leg pain, you may want to visit Dr. Starek to see whether orthotics can help.
